Terms and Conditions

The rules for using Role SEO, our hosted SEO app operated by Role Creative Ltd.

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Who these terms are between

These terms are a contract between you and Role Creative Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales at 13 Hope Street, Liverpool L1 9BQ. When we say “we” or “Role SEO” we mean Role Creative Ltd providing the Role SEO app at role-seo.com and app.role-seo.com.

By creating an account or using Role SEO you agree to these terms. If you’re using Role SEO on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these terms.

Your account

You need an account to use Role SEO. You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything done under your account. Tell us right away if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that’s being used to break these terms, break the law, or damage the service or its users.

What you can do with Role SEO

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Role SEO for your own SEO work and for client work you deliver. You can use the reports and results Role SEO generates in your own deliverables.

You may not:

  • Copy, resell, or redistribute Role SEO or its data as a standalone product.
  • Reverse-engineer or scrape the service to build a competing product.
  • Share account access with people outside your organisation. Teams should be added as members instead.
  • Use Role SEO to break the law, spam, or harm other people or their websites.

Pricing, credits, and payment

Role SEO uses a credit model: 1000 credits equal £1 of usage. Every action that costs money to run (keyword lookups, backlink checks, rank tracking, site audits, AI agent calls) uses credits from your balance. Reading data you’ve already fetched is free. Search Console reads are free.

  • Free plan: a small monthly credit allowance to try the service.
  • Paid plans: a monthly fee that includes a larger credit allowance. Included credits reset at the start of each billing cycle.
  • Top-ups: extra credits you can buy at any time. Top-up credits roll over and don’t expire while your account is active.

Prices are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable. Payment is taken in advance by our processor, Stripe. Failed payments give you 14 days to resolve before the account is paused.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel any time from the billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the paid period.

If you’re a consumer (using Role SEO outside a business), you have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you start using the paid service during those 14 days you accept that we’ll pro-rate a refund based on usage. Credits already consumed are not refundable.

Business customers don’t have a statutory cooling-off right but we’ll consider refund requests on a fair-use basis if something has genuinely gone wrong.

Third-party data and services

Role SEO depends on third-party services that we don’t control:

  • SEO data is provided by DataForSEO. Metrics can change without notice; we present them as-is.
  • The ROS AI agent runs on models provided via OpenRouter. AI outputs may contain errors; check anything material before you act on it.
  • Google Search Console and Google Analytics connections rely on Google’s APIs and terms. If Google changes access, features that depend on it may change or stop working.

Your content

Anything you put into Role SEO (keywords, saved lists, project settings, uploaded content) stays yours. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content only as needed to run the service for you. You’re responsible for having the rights to the content you put in.

Our content and brand

The Role SEO name, logo, app, code, and copy on this site are owned by Role Creative Ltd. You get a licence to use the service, not ownership of it.

Availability

We aim to keep Role SEO available, but we don’t promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced when possible. Downtime doesn’t entitle you to a refund unless it becomes a material failure and we can’t fix it in a reasonable time.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, break the law, or put the service at risk. We’ll normally tell you first unless it’s urgent. If we close an account for a serious breach, you won’t be refunded for unused time.

You can close your account at any time. Once closed, data is kept for 30 days for restore purposes and then deleted, subject to longer retention for legal records like invoices.

Warranties and liability

Role SEO is provided “as is”. We don’t warrant that it will meet every specific requirement, that results will be error-free, or that specific SEO outcomes will follow from using it. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you in any 12-month period for anything arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data.

Indemnity

You agree to cover us for reasonable losses arising from your misuse of the service, breach of these terms, or infringement of someone else’s rights through what you put into Role SEO.

Data protection

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. Where you upload personal data of others (for example, in project notes), you are the controller and we act as a processor for that data.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, though if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes get an email to account holders and at least 14 days’ notice. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
